I wrote this article excerpt in a Writing in the Community course at the University of Georgia. Throughout this course, I volunteered with UGA's Archway Partnership program to meet with GA community leaders to discuss their needs, including requests for funding.

For this article excerpt, I traveled to Hart County, GA to interview local residents for an oral history writing project. While the full-length article was co-written, this excerpt is all my writing.
